- The ROUTE gadget is only available when the CREATE DRIVER window is
- displaying the `GET FROM SYNTH' MIDI protocols. Use of this gadget
- requires entry of a MIDI command to GET data and entry of the string
- gadgets found at the far right of the window (Ch Ofst, Chan Mn, Chan
- Mx, Size). Patch # Mn and Mx may also be required if the command to
- GET data contains a "-P".
-
- Click on the ROUTE gadget after entering the required data, and a
- requester will open allowing you to change the MIDI route prior to the
- GET. Hit the GET button when the route is correct. The sysex file
- that is received will be displayed in the `»» Work Area ««' portion of
- the CREATE DRIVER window.
-
- If the entered Size was too small you will not be able to view the
- entire file, if it was too large you will receive a message stating
- that the expected sysex file was not received.
-
- Read the help text for the `»» Work Area ««' gadgets to see how you
- can simplify the driver creation process!
-
- To change the MIDI route, hold down the left mouse button while pointing
- to one of the MIDI route numbers. The number will turn red and the
- pointer will disappear. Continue to hold down the left mouse button and
- move the mouse up to increment and down to decrement the value. Release
- the mouse button when the correct value is displaying.
-
- S-Ch ==> Sysex Communications Channel. Make sure this channel matches
- the channel of the instrument you want to communicate with.
-
- Ch ==> Audition Channel. This channel is used for the "Note On"
- commands generated by "The PatchMeister". This channel will
- more than likely be the same as the `S-Ch' channel. However,
- some synths (i.e. Roland MT-32) use one channel for Sysex
- Communications, and a different set of channels for "Note On"
- commands. Make sure this channel is set to match the channel
- on which your synth will respond to "Note On" commands.
-
- In ==> MIDI In. Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI In port.
-
- Out ==> MIDI Out. Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI Out port.
-
- P-Bay ==> Patch Bay MIDI Channel and Patch Bay Program Number. If you
- are using a patch bay, make sure the MIDI channel matches the
- channel that your patch bay is listening to, and that the
- program number is the program (patch) that will establish the
- proper MIDI route to this synth.
-
- Patch ==> Patch Number. Some sysex requests require that you specify
- a specific patch number. For instance you may request that
- Patch 5 be transmitted. The patch number will be placed in
- the MIDI command replacing the `-P', so make sure you have
- keyed a `-P' in the MIDI command if you need to.
